I would like the ability to set the process priority running windows gui version. For example \"low\" is ok for some machines but on dedicated basket crunchers I\'d like to define that to something higher... like \"below normal\" or \"normal\". It would have to be host level so maybe as an option under the \"settings\" menu or at the host/project level by adding to the right click on a project menu. Thanks, Skip Win XP and 2K |

Hi Skip, i don't it's really needed. When your box is idle, there are no other processes to consume CPU cycle so CPDN can have all CPU(s) for itself. You can do better by defragmenting HD from time to time or dissabling some services (like Themes in WinXP) etc. |

This is on the BOINC tasklist. No telling when it will be gotten to though. <br>John Keck -- BOINCing since 2002/12/08 -- <a href="http://www.boinc.dk/index.php?page=user_statistics&project=cpdn&userid=191"><img border="0" height="80" src="http://191.cpdn.sig.boinc.dk?188"></a> |

Hi everyone, You can change process priorities of the boinc gui as well as the hdsm in a process related program like 'wintasks' or sth similar. I tried hdsm on the normal priority and noticed nothing interesting :/ But when I tried it on the high priority I could hardly manage to move between widnows in the taskbar :D. My winxp experienced an extreme SLOWDOWN. In my opionion the low priority for hdsm is good. |
