I am getting the message below. What can I do about it?

Hi, EAJ,

AFAIK, it means that:
1) your machine lacks the 600 meg required to run a Model (plus whatever else in boinc you may be linked to), or,
2) you should tweak your Preferences to be sure that the space your machine has available is appropriately identified, including max allowances.

It is important that you set 'Preferences' in your Account for 'General' AND 'Home' (or Work or School), AND also for CPDN. (I don't pretend to know how it works, but I tell it more space than any of my machines actually has, then to leave 0.1 meg free and then % of 95 & 90 for Total & Virtual. Again, I don't know why it works, but it does. [I no longer run other projects, which may make a difference.])

HTH.

Edit: Bad form: I used AFAIK (As Far As I Know) without awareness of whether you know the the jargon. Sorry about that. Too much of that carelessness afoot.

Hi EAJ,

If you're like me you might have organised your disk a small system partition and a larger work one. By default BOINC will install to the C drive, but I override that every time.

If you need to move BOINC to a partition with more disk space stop the program, make a copy of your BOINC directory, uninstall BOINC, reinstall it on the other partition and overwrite it with your copy (by doing this you maintain the account details and work for all the projects you're attached to).

An explanation of what the disk space preferences do can be found in the FAQ <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/quick_faq.php#f">here</b>.
