Bit of a surprise this morning when looking at laptop using wine. as well as a HADCM3N task which is estimating 100 days at present (before starting) I have also picked up three tasks which are estimating under 2 hours and looking at the rate one is going (I suspended some other tasks out of interest) it is going to finish in under 100 minutes! The three are all part of batch number 364. Are these part of a test batch that has come to the main site instead of the beta testing?

edit: I will know within an hour whether these tasks complete successfully or not.

I now know these are 1 day tasks that are testing some initial conditions but will fail as they are not configured to send the zip file after reaching 100%. Am waiting to find out if there is any other useful information I can dig out of my system.

They are test tasks and should really have gone to the dev site.

This sounds more like alpha testing than beta. Like pure test of concept of a new program.

Yes.
It can be called Alpha or Beta or Dev.
It's all in-house now, and it seems to involve people from each of the research groups from various places around the world.

Well, there is some testing of these fiddly little things on the main site, once they appear to be OK in the testing above.
This is to make sure that they can survive "out here in the urban jungle".

They're things like new stash codes, new re-start files, etc.

I just ran one. Completed in 1h4m26sec and ended in a Computation error with no zip file.
