Does anyone know if the CPDN team is working on bringing graphics back? For a project like climate modelling that can be visually represented in a way that everyone can easily understand, I think it's important to be able to intuitively communicate with non-volunteers the significance of the project in order to expand the community. Thanks! |

Does anyone know if the CPDN team is working on bringing graphics back? I am afraid that as far as I know from a couple of email lists I am on to do with the project there are no plans for this. The reason I miss them is that they were useful in checking to see if a task had got stuck in a loop and needed to be aborted though to be fair, that happens a lot less than it used to. - I haven't had it happen at all in the past three years. |

I know what you mean. I haven’t had a model loop since they retired the old 160 year models. I do however miss the old graphics. I realize they take a lot of extra work that doesn't benefit the science. |

The IT person who programmed the original graphics moved on 7 or 8 years ago. As BOINC and the model programs evolved, no one was able to, or could devote enough time to, adapt the graphics program. Unfortunate as I miss them too. |
