It has been a very long time since any of my hosts have received work from this project. CPDN accounts for over 60% of my total credit, and when the work stopped coming and the communication stopped, I interpreted it as the end of the project. Very recently, I have read about the problems that have plagued Linux hosts, but even my Windows host is going to waste with respect to this crucial research. My decision to postpone building a small cluster at home was based in large part on the fact that crunching CPDN data was to be the cluster's intended primary function beyond teaching me how to admin a cluster.

No work units for Linux PCs have been released for several months. No time frame for reinstatement of these Linux applications has been announced as they haven't solved the problem yet.

I am unsure why your Windows host has not downloaded any work. You may want to check your cpdn preferences off of your account webpage to make sure that you have all application/model types checked. Does boinc manager state that it is trying to request new work in the event/message log? If there is a request listed, what is the response from the server?

I also note that one of your computers has an Atom N270 CPU at 1.6GHz. I have a netbook with the same processor and even when it has work it takes a verrrry looooong time to complete tasks. I have set it to no new tasks from CPDN and next time I get at it I will detach it from the project as it really isn't worth running it in my humble opinion.

I just checked, none of your computers are set to -1 tasks per day which is what is done when computers are reported as crashing everything in sight. usually a Linux machine missing the 32bit libraries but not always.

Why -1 is the figure to stop the computer getting any tasks and not 0 is something I suspect some of the moderaters might know the answer to.

The Atom box is producing work about on par with my fastest Android node. At the moment, it is serving no other purpose, but I do have plans for it, and I do wish to use its spare cycles, so I will continue watching its work rate and checking for problems with specific projects.

The event log shows the project responding that no work is available. That Windows box crumbles under the weight of even a web browser, so it's not trivial to cut and paste the actual log output. I imagine that it will perform much better once I install Linux on it, but the Linux-CPDN bug is among the reasons I'm delaying.

One thing I noticed when using the BOINC manager on that machine: all other projects are set to priority "0" (not resource share). CPDN is set to priority "-0".

Though I have been using BOINC since 2005 and SETI much longer than that, I am not proficient at BOINC's technical internals. Until recently, it has "just worked" and required no care and feeding beyond setting up the OpenMosix boot floppies (I may be dating myself).

Though a number of those applications types are of historic interest only and you are unlikely to get anything except WAH2 and possibly HADCM3S. The importance of having the box checked is that when a new application type comes out you will be able to crunch them.
