What format are these tasks for? |

I do not understand your question. I have run five of these work units on my Linux machine and they completed correctly. What do you mean by format? |

Linux/x86, which means 32 bit Linux. https://www.cpdn.org/apps.php |

Format means file type, ie Windows, Linux or whatever else is in vogue. |

Linux/x86, which means 32 bit Linux. Hi there, I just noticed that the most apps are only in 32-Bit also, since on my Ubuntu-version I get no work whatever I do. Shouldn't these work on 64-Bit also? Ah ok, thanks for that. I thought 32-bit libraries were installed on my machine but obviously not. Install did work, unfortunately I have to wait an hour until my client asks again for work - hopefully there will be a bit work left then... Life is Science, and Science rules. Hm, doesn't seem to work, still get "no tasks sent", although work is still there. How are the memory requirements for the N144 tasks? Life is Science, and Science rules. To the universe and beyond Proud member of BOINC@Heidelberg My BOINCstats-Sig |

I haven't run one for a while, but 2-3 Gb per model is usually enough. |

Hm, doesn't seem to work, still get "no tasks sent", although work is still there. They take about 650 MB of RAM per N144 task. Edit...the N216 tasks that may be coming soon will take about 1.5 GB per task. |

These hdam4 work units take about 652 megabytes of virtual memory space on my 64-bit machine. The working set at the moment is only about 635 megabytes of real memory or about 4% of my 16GBytes of RAM. This process has been running only a little over two hours, so I do not know if it has reached steady state in its working set size yet. Hm, strange, then everything should fit, but it still says "no tasks sent". There are still a few left I see but I don't get one. Besides, if memory or so won't be enough, it surely would tell me. Is this maybe marked as test app? There are no settings for it in my account but if this is the case the manager normally doesn't tell anyone as far as I know. Life is Science, and Science rules. All testing is done on a separate system. Try adjusting your pref settings so that you only have 1 processor. That's a quick way to "increase" your memory per processor. |

I was probably too late now. My manager sent a request to the server a few minutes before I changed settings now, so this (stupid) 1 hour-break kicked in. Until then I guess the last work left is gone... :-( Life is Science, and Science rules. To the universe and beyond Proud member of BOINC@Heidelberg My BOINCstats-Sig |

It is not unusual for a two or more hour delay between tasks running out and the server status page being updated. Irrespective of that, I see they are all gone now. |

What did your event log say? Not sure where to find that or what event log you mean now. I'm pretty new with the Ubuntu version (18.04) I have and installed that only a few weeks ago. I managed to install BOINC, which was more or less easy. I found the climateprediction folder after a bit searching now but there is no event log in it... Earlier as there was enough work, BOINC manager only said "no work sent" several times, nothing more. Life is Science, and Science rules. What did your event log say? I'm sure Dave meant the Message Log listing in boinc manager. If you could copy a block of about 20 lines with the "no work sent" message in the middle, and paste it into a reply here, we could maybe be able to help a little more. Usually there's some clue, however subtle, in the message log when work should be sent but isn't. |
