I think Boinc core client should have the ability to automatically or not backup its work units, especilally those from this project. It should be able to backup them, by user request, optionally taking advantage of the scheduler of the OS. It should also do a backup, whenever an error occurs while computing a WU and restore it, instead of downloading a new unit. Finally, to economize disk space with this operation, Boinc should use its built-in zip functionality to compress the backup files.
