It may be a waste of electricity but my practice is to let them run rather than have them go to another machine if I abort where they may sit for another year. That way at least they get cleared from the "Tasks in progress" column on the server status page.

I will see what happens with two 22.zips that should be produced within the next two hours. I forget what I thought was the cause of the zips getting to 100% and then failing.

I usually assume that happens when there's a two-stage upload: first, to the upload gateway (the BOINC server), and second to some sort of backing storage device. The backing store isn't checked by BOINC until the initial upload is complete, but if the second step is rejected, the error is reported back to the primary device, and finally the end user.

Thanks Richard. That makes sense and rings bells. My first 22.zip is about 70% complete so I will have either confirmation or otherwise that it is more than just one user soon.

Edit: My first one has gone through fine. second one 74% now. Whether that means the problem is now cleared I don't know. Previous two went through about 0430UTC.
