Hi

I don't know if this is a "fix" for the credit problem, I found that if I removed the project using Boinc Manager and then added the project again using Boinc manager I found that Boinc Manager showed Climateprediction.net with the right amount of credit in both my project account and also in Boinc manager stats.

Fingers crossed!

Regards

Jon

I am still confused as there is no additional colum shown in the "pending Credit" part of the site.

I pasted all the information available.

I have found another thread that seems to indicate that "Pending Credits" are not used in this project.

Once again Climate Prediction has to be different!

Would it not be possible to disable the "Pending Credits" part of the "Your Account" page or at least put a note there to ignore the "Pending Credits" as they are not valid.

15658079 8460655 1108624 11,508.48
Pending credit: 40,982.78

How long does it usually take to add outstanding credits to an account?

It would be nice to have these credits as it would increase my credit total significantly.

I finished a work unit a few days ago, but as yet have not been sent another unit to process.

Is this because I have a rather slow computer?

Thanks

The Coupled Ocean models are being run both here and at \'BBC\', which is actually here too. And the models both have the BBC logo, as being a way to get both started quickly, but you can tell which is which from the label:
hadcm3ln for BBC
hadcm3lm for cpdn

edit
It looks like you have been running slab models. These finished late last year, and were replaced by sulphur models for about 5 months to get sulphate data for the TCMs, which started Februry 14.
Which is why things look different. The new models are a single phase, for 160 years.

Thanks for the clarification, I only persevered with the CPDN model because I had done 2/3rds of it, by the time I downloaded the new BBC model.

I will just run the \"BBC model\" now as it appears that the climate modelling is essentially identical in both cases.

Thanks for your help

Up to recently I was running both the original Climate Prediction model and the new BBC Climate model.

The BBC Climate model restarted OK after the problems with the original climate model.

However when I tried to download a replacement WU for the CPDN model, I received what appeared to to be another BBC Climate WU.

What I want to know is if the ORIGINAL CPDN model has now been replaced by the BBC Climate model, if so I will detach from the original project and just run the BBC Model.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks

That must have been some error! Prior to your recalculation I had approximately 29,000 Climate prediction credits, now I have 945. As far as I am aware I have obtained those credits fairly!

I joined Climate Prediction in September 2004 and had completed 2 full runs plus some odds and ends.

In effect your "adjustment" has in effect wiped out aproximately 10 months of computing time donated by me to the project.

I feel that I should be credited for legitmate work done.

I trust that this situation will be rectified and that people that have lost out will be credited for their efforts.

In my opinion statements such as "sorry for the confusion" do not address this problem.

I hope that these legitimate missing credits will be restored to me.

Please bear in mind that there are other BOINC projects available now.

Why on earth should credits be only awarded to "Teams"? Computing time contributed by a single user on a lone machine is ever bit as valuable and valid as computer time from a team.

I was under the impression that credits are given as a "reward" for people letting these BOINC projects use their computers.

9) Questions and Answers : Windows : no trickles for 3 days? when will be up? (Message 13602)

> There appears to be a policy of not talking about computer problems.
> It may be because there are usually no problems, or it may be University
> policy not to give the public any clues about University computers.
>
> Either way, this project is about science research, and credits are/were just
> to keep users from other projects happy. The science data is safe, it's just
> the publicly visible parts that are missing. Credits can be recalculated at
> any time.
>
> The current problem WILL get fixed. And SETI is down far more often than
> here.
>
>
>
>I would have thought that keeping people informed of any computer or server problems at the university, would have been justified, if only as a politeness to the users. After all if users leave the project due to prolems with the University computers, they may not come back, and if this is taken to a logical extreme, there will be no Climate Prediction Project.

The Climate Prediction people could do a lot worse than copy Seti in informing people of problems via the home page of the web site.

At the moment only the top 1000 users are listed.

Is there any extra \"add-on\" I can download to check how my individual progress compares with others.

When I was running SETI Classic I could access the user statistics page and find out.
