1) Questions and Answers : Windows : Loading an existing Task (Message 34185) Posted 29 Jun 2008 by old_user166814 Post: I currently appear to have three outstanding tasks: 7376657 is currently ongoing and is almost finished 7329738 has no trickles and was stopped before it really started 7214505 has no trickles and was stopped before it really started Can you tell me if I can load either task 7329738 or task 7214505 on completion of the first task - 7376657 rather than take whatever the server decides to send me? My reason for asking is that I have 14 tasks listed but 10 have never finished for one reason or another. I have successfully completed 1 task and a second will complete very soon. It would be nice if the remaining 2 listed tasks could also be successfully completed. Thanks for your help

I don\'t know what this is. (Is it the 160 year model you mentioned?) If I can make it start I will do it after hadsm3fub_0133_005940785_2 has completed processing - probably in around 4 months time (if someone can tell me how to do this!) 3.hadsm3fub_00me_005927059_0 I don\'t know what this is although again I\'ll add it to the queue once I get close to finishing the others 4.hadsm3fub_00m2_005917205_7 is almost finished - thanks to your advice which got it started again. I\'m not too sure about the other results as I have never had a completed model until now. I was previously doing the BBC experiment and gave up as it kept refusing to restart after being suspended and I had to keep reverting to backups to get it started again. I assume that one of the other results is that one?

A second model downloaded a couple of days ago but didn\'t do anything - waiting for the first one to complete I thought. Today I suspended BOINC and exited to do some housekeeping on the PC. When I restarted BOINC the second model kicked in leaving the first almost but not quite finished. I could go back to last weeks backup but that would add another week to the processing time and I\'m so close. Can I get the first one to restart and to reach that elusive 100%? If so, how?

My Graphics screen shows that my bit of the experiment covers the period 1810 to 2050. It also states that I\'m almost 60% through (As does the Tasks screen). The schematic in the graphic screen seems to indicate that I should be at around 1930 - but I\'m actually only at 1837. Is there a reason for this? Thanks for your help, Charlie

I assumed that the reult id at the top of the list was the most recent one, and thought that, because what turned out to be the correct result, showed \'Client Error\' and the Server State as being \'Over\', then it would not be the most up to date. (Hope that this makes sense!!)

After reading through this thread I have now added BOINC.EXE and BOINCMGR.EXE to my (Microsoft Windows) firewall. I have also checked in C:\\Program Files\\BOINC\\Projects\\climate prediction.net\\hadsm3fub_002m_005917205\\dataout and can see 189 files of type \"NC File\" and type \"P<a><nn>C10\". Are these the trickle files? and if so, how do I get them to upload? Your help is appreciated, Charlie Simpson

After I had altered the \"Run when busy\" setting to \"Yes\", exiting the experiment, rebooting the PC and then re-starting the experiment, the graphics have re-appeared. I\'ll check again tomorrow to see if the trickles are still as frequent.

Memory is currently set as follows: 1.1.1 50% page file (swap file) 1.1.2 50% memory when in use 1.1.3 90% memory when idle 1.2 My memory is as follows: 29/12/2007 3:32:18 PM\|\|Memory: 703.48 MB physical, 953.58 MB virtual 1.3 Should any of my settings be changed? If so what are your recomendations? 2. I believe I set myself up as a single user - although I am unable to find the setting to prove it. (The graphics did work until I re-booted the PC and re-started the experiment). 3.1 My Firewall is Windows Firewall. I have an entry as follows: C:\\Program Files\\Climate Change Experiment\\cpdnbbcmgr.exe This looks to be incorrect as I have now deleted the BBC experiment. What is the correct path to add to the Firewall? 3.2 I don\'t have a proxy server (I don\'t think!) 4. I have altered the \"Run when Busy\" setting to \"yes\". I wait to see the result with interest.

I exited the program and rebooted my PC and the message hasn\'t returned - although there have been numerous trickles - 1 every 40 minutes or so (On the BBC program I only saw a trickle every 2 days). Now the graphics won\'t show - they did before I restarted - and the trickles are continuing. Whilst I appreciate that the graphics aren\'t too important they are useful in that they allow me to see the progress of my bit of the experiment. Can you confirm that all is well and can you help me get the graphics back please? Thanks, Charlie
