Don\'t count on the orphan dropping from the boinc listing, though....

Well everything seems stable after deleting those files (I moved them first to make sure). You\'re right though, the orphan WU will not delete from the boinc listing. Strange how the other aborted WU did, but, not this one.

Thanks

Shortly after starting number crunching for Climate Predictions I suspended CP to finish off another project, the result was that I ended up with two more WUs as I did not realize I should have selected the Get No More WUs. Aborting these new WUs resulted in one disappearing from the BOINC Tasks tab, but, the other is still there and won\'t go away.

Searching in my BOINC Program folder I see I have a folder named hadcm3lbm_4dlp_05160394 which was an aborted WU which is no longer displayed, can I safely remove this 284 MB folder?

There is no folder for WU hadcm3lbm_3x0l_05138898 which is one which has been aborted, but, still displays, however, I do have this WU as a zip folder hadcm3lbm_3x0l_05138898.zip. Can I safely delete this and will this WU stop displaying in my BOINC manager?

Are there any other files I could delete such as the hadcm3lbm_4dlp_05160394.xml relating to an aborted WU?

Ah, Thanks Pooh, I understand what\'s happening now. It\'s like a download manager trying to estimate download time of something big with variable bandwidth, it\'s all over the place to begin with then settles down half way through.

I\'ve now been running the program for 56+ hrs.. CPU time, I\'m showing 226.8 Total Credits yet time to completion has only dropped from 2887 hrs. to 2884 hrs.. I look at the seconds ticking away on CPU time and am seeing on Time To Completion the seconds increasing and decreasing, but, never really getting anywhere just fluctuating around the same number. Why is this happening? Shouldn\'t there be a steady decrease in time to end that reflects somewhat the CPU usage? I\'ve been puzzling over this for some time now.
