In your preferences, have you allowed the models to use 100% of CPU time, or a smaller %? If you allow 90%, I think the processor does 9 CPU cycles at 100% and then nothing for the tenth. But I imagine this happens much too quickly to see it with the human eye in Task Manager.

There\'s a weird thing in his client_state.xml: I cannot find the <attached_via_acct_mgr/>-tag for any project. But BAM! does not detach the projects, so they seem to be registered in BAM!.

If it\'s an HT processor, and you want to run two models, go to your General prefs on your Account page and set the number of processors to 2. Then you can run 2 models at once.

You\'re right about the deadline not being an issue - there isn\'t any deadline.
The date is there because the server software requires it for other projects.

I have the same problem, and also recently updated to 5.8.11. But the point is that I get the error every time boinc switches between my 2 projects, cpdn and rosetta.

On the other hand, everything seems to advance as it should be, I mean cpdn %, time and date, trickles and so on. Is there something else to look out for in order to identify a problem?

It\'s interesting that 5.8.8 didn\'t look for the existing location of an earlier version of BOINC, as, according to the \'talk\' on the BOINC/dev board, it should have. I\'ve no personal knowledge of 5.8.8.
The default location for BOINC is different to the \"BBC\" location.

As for attaching to cpdn, did you do this as an \"existing account\", (which had already been created for you), or as a \"new user\"?

How many cores does your computer have?
1 WU per (virtual) core is the usual amount, so with a CoreDuo, or even a hyper threaded core it\'s the normal behaviour, otherwise half of your computer will sit idling around.

No need to abort them.

What worries me about it is that I saw a comment about jobs being aborted if they exceed the deadline time. That would be a disaster since deadlines aren\'t important here. Perhaps that plan has changed now (I certainly hope so).

I think you get the Boinc logo EITHER when none of the projects are running, or when a project is running which doesn\'t implement the screensaver. What other projects do you run, do they all have screensavers?

I run the following projects: Rosetta, Boincsimap, Climateprediction, Einstein, TANPAKU, Seti and SZTAKI.

On your question which has screensavers: Silly question. None. That was the complaint.
