42) Questions and Answers : Windows : Lost Unit (Message 2266) Posted 31 Aug 2004 by belgix Post: This problem is not new. Sounds like BOINC might not have closed the model down cleanly. This bug were not fixed in BOINC v4.05. They are a 2 file rotation for the client_state.xml file in v4.xx which should solve alot of the lost workunit issues at restarts and crashes but it's not perfect. I already complain about this in the beta test. If your want to avoid this, you may run BOINC as a service (I never get this problem) or you if you run GUI, you must Suspend computation before quitting application.

For your Athlon 3200+, you may expect 3-4 weeks if your run your computer 24/7. Hopefully, your will receive credits at the completion of every 10802 time steps (= 1 trickle) (or appr. at every 8-10 hours of processing).

Result of experiment is <a href="//climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/trickle.php?resultid=12677">here</a>. The first eleventh trickles were processed w/o P3 optimizations (3.6750-3.8056 s/TS). Trickle sent 23 Aug 2004 03:21:32 were processed with the tweaked .exe file (3.8128 s/TS). I will restore original .exe file to continue processing of this WU.
