Hello,

I recently returned to CPDN after several years. I have been crunching along for about a week now on my 1 computer, but haven't received any credit. I have completed 6 wah2 tasks so far.

Did I read correctly that credit is only handed out once every few weeks now?

My one cruncher is not a Mac, running Win10.

Thanks,

That computer really has been turning in a lot of completed models and doing an impressive amount of work.

Thanks for noticing! :)

Unless you plan to run work from a CUDA project on that graphics card, stick with BOINC 6.2.19 for the time being. You\'ll see from the project News thread (top of the Number Crunching section) that this is what the CPDN moderators are advising for the time being.

I do use the GTX 260 to crunch on GPU Grid, so unfortunately I need to stick with 6.5.0 for the time being. The good news is that I downloaded another CPDN model today on that host. I\'m sure as I clear out some of the other work units it will grab more eventually and be running CPDN and GPU Grid 24/7.

Thanks for the advice mo.v.

Post:
This host was formerly attached using 5.x BOINC, but I recently upgraded to 6.4.5 after putting a GTX 260 into it. In the process, I also moved my BOINC data folder to another drive since I was running low on space. Unfortunately, when I copied my projects over, 6.4.5 did not recognize the old work so I lost the 4 CPDN models it was working on.

Since doing this, it (CPDN) has only allowed me to download 1 work unit. Am I correct in assuming this is due to the other 4 models being left in limbo? How can I get it to download 3 more?

Thanks for any advice.

5) So, has the founder updated his email address on his Account page? (It\'s an option near the top.)

I think the main problem is that the Team Founder made a new account. So changing his email address to the old address doesn\'t automatically make him TF.

He needs to log in with either the old account, or with the account key of that old account, before he can make any changes. Since he can\'t request the account key to be sent to him as the old email address is defunct, that\'s giving him the problem. Had he not made a new account, but just changed the email address on the old account, there wouldn\'t have been a problem.

So as the 3rd option he just has to wait another 3 weeks until the option to take over the team is given free to him.

Why 2 months? To give team founders time to react. What if someone is on vacation or in the hospital for some time? There\'s also a 3 month wait after which you can try again, if you get waved off by a TF or miss the window at which you can take over as TF.

So:
If you want someone to just go in and click \"approve\", prove, in a way that will \'stand up in a court of law\', that both the \'old\' and \'new\' person\'s that you mention are, indeed, one and the same.

PS
Why isn\'t the team founder posting here, either instead of, or as well?
This could be considered as suspicious.

I sent pmondo a link to this thread, hopefully he\'ll answer any questions you have to prove he is the founder.

As to why he\'s not the one posting this, I guess I\'m just slightly more proactive and spend more time hanging out on this forum.

Honestly, I could care less about who the founder is. I just would like someone to please fix the URL to our team website (see my original post) -- and this seems to be the only way to get it done. We\'ve been working on this for 7 months now...

No, he doesn\'t have that email address anymore.

If the team founder does not respond to your email challenge within 2 months time, then the team founder option will be given to the person who sent the email.

Grrrrr....

It\'s not my email challenge. The person who initiated the transfer/challenge (pmondo) *is* the original team founder, but he has long since changed email addresses so he has no way of getting in until his attempt to challenge himself is complete. He is trying to transfer it to his new address.

Why 2 months? That seems a little ridiculous to me. Old owner and new owner are the same person, can\'t someone just go in and click \"approve\" for us?

What I find a little odd is the change in the speed of the model recently, from 1.425s/ts to 1.53 at the most recent trickle, which is often a sign of PC instability (or, alternatively, that the model is running on a different PC to the one it started on).

Hi Sangamon, fancy meeting you here!

No need to worry about that message, it should disappear again in a day or so. It is benign, if annoying.

If it lasts for a few days, you can shut down BOINC and do a system reboot. That usually gets everything resynched again.

Hello Mew, thanks for the quick response! Whew, glad to read this. I had about 1500 hours on that model, so I didn\'t like the idea of resetting it..

But, whatever you do, DON\'T PRESS THE RESET BUTTON! This will delete your model(s)!

As long as you\'re only running one project, then you can simply ignore this (it\'s harmless). However if you\'re running multiple projects, it will interfere with scheduling and work fetch. In that case, you can (with care) edit the various XML files to reset the dates - I don\'t have a link to the instructions, but they\'ll be on this forum somewhere.

Hi Mike, thank you for the response. I searched for \"1901\" and \"XML\" - neither seemed to return instructions for hard setting the deadline - although XML returned lots of other interesting info.

I do run other projects, so if anyone else reads this and can let me know which XML files I need to play with, please let me know. Thanks.
