CPDN does not use VirtualBox, which is used by LHC@home and SourceFinder@home.

I am running also SETI@home, Einstein@home, LHC@home. Nobody doubts about the validity of those. I could be watching "Game of thrones" on my TV set, which works as a monitor.

Italian paper "La Repubblica" says that the new data center of ECMWF could be placed in Italy, according to its director Florence Rabier in an interview.
The location is Tecnopolo in Bologna, which already hosts Cineca, the main Italian computing center. The computer should be a Cray but no details are given.

About 21 hours on my Windows 10 PC with A10-6700 CPU which AMD says has four cores but the Windows Task Manager says it has 2 cores and 4 logical processors, so it runs only 2 BOINC tasks at the same time, plus a GPU task, either Einstein@home or SETI@home.Speedup of GPU tasks is impressive.

I see no reason to exclude GPU work. I am using it both on SETI@home and Einstein@home. None of my six other projects uses GPU, only Virtual Box.

My Windows 10 PC just rebooted after an update without any warning message. But I had only SETI@home and vLHC@home tasks on it, so no damage was done. I am running CPDN tasks only on my old Linux box, a SUN workstation of 2008 vintage, when they are available. Now it is running Einstein@home, both CPU and GPU tasks. I have installed on it a ATI/AMD HD 7770 GPU board and it works fine. The Windows 10 PC has a nVidia GTX 750 OC and it runs SETI@home GPU tasks.

1 PNW task crashed on my Linux box after 433.35052 hours when at 99% but gave me 13k credits. I had to reboot the SUN WS with Opteron 1210, 8 GB RAM, SuSE Leap 42.1 64 bit when it was running also SETI Beta GPU tasks on a AMD/ATI HD 7770 GPU board. Maybe one of them crashed and the CPDN task did not survive the reboot.

I have 6 Virtual Machines on my Windows 10 PC. One of them is a SuSE Leap 42.1, the latest SuSE release, which I use as a tester of Leap. On this I have loaded a second tier Virtual Box and run vLHC@home of CERN, with good results.

Other providers in Italy are Fastweb, which has fiber connections, and Vodafone. I am keeping Telecomitalia for historical reasons, since I am registered in about 100 sites with my mail account and I don't want to change it.CPDN is the only site which has boycotted me at times.

Telecomitalia is my ISP. Once I was banned from an Oxford link on this site because they said Telecomitalia was not responding to their requests. No other BOINC site has made any objection to me, including CERN, Berkeley, the Albert Einstein Institute etc. So maybe they are just suspicious of anybody in Italy.

I am Tullio and do not see the problem. I am running 5 CERN projects on this Windows 10 PC using Virtual Box 5.0.10, plus a SuSE Linux Virtual Leap 42.1 just to try it, and a Solaris 11.3 mostly for nostalgy, since it has no BOINC projects. I do not advice to install Leap as a Linux Virtual Machine since its BOINC client and Boinc manager do not work. I have two Linux boxes running SuSE 13.1 and 13.2 and one of them runs 32-bit CPDN projects. Maybe Ubuntu Linux is easier for a Windows user, also the Linux BOINC client is developed on it.

Of my six BOINC projects only ATLAS@home and CMS-dev require a 64-bit Linux. All others use 32-bit Linux apps. My two Linux boxes run 32-bit OS, although one has a 64-bit CPU. My 64-bit Windows 10 CPU runs three 64-bit Linux Virtual Machines, one 64-bit Solaris Virtual machine and one 32-bit Virtual Machine, vLHC@home. CERN has said it will update vLHC@home but so far it has not happened. The CERN 2015 Challenge, not a BOINC project. uses 64-bit Linux Virtual Machine. I am running a CPDN task on this SuSE Linux 32-bit host, plus vlHC@home. SETI@home runs 32-bit on my other Linux box, together with Einstein@home. Both SETI@home and Einstein@home run on the 64-bit Windows 10 PC.

I am running the 4.1.12-1-default kernel on my AMD A10-6700 CPU. The kernel is the default of the Leap 42.1 SuSE release. So far it only runs in a Virtual machine on my Windows 10 PC, and crunches vLHC@home.

My Windows 10 is being updated every month, so I have to suspend all BOINC work on it. I have also to restart manually the CERN 2015 Challenge running on Virtual Box after every reboot.
