My SAM50 tasks from two batches also built-up a sizeable backlog. They are in process of uploading now. Hope yours are, too.

To add to Dave's response, PNW tasks go to Oregon State University, here in the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

Currently, in addition to the earlier-referenced SAM#822, my machines also have SAFR50 Batch#817 tasks hung.

Other tasks are now suspended except the single PNW task (its uploads succeed).

Credits are awarded each time data is received from a task (unlike other projects, which require completed tasks). Your task apparently failed to report the first reporting point. Sorry about that - we all lose some minutes of processing that way...

WCG have an option the users can select whereby they agree to accept beta testing versions of applications (or, more likely, potential applications). I see no reason why CPDN could not do the same.

WCG sends an occasional Beta task to my boxes. The WCG Beta demands tend to be significantly lesser than CPDN's tests.

There was a time the CPDN test site was opened to all. Too many 'set and forget' users joined, diminishing the effectiveness of the tests.

A separate CPDN test site was established. Somehow the URL leaked and spread. Not good. That site was closed and another established, with membership by invitation only. Regrets if that seems arrogant or elitist; it isn't meant to. It it intended to maintain the effectiveness of the development process.

I was part of the test environment for years. I refused the latest invitation, not because experience is lacking but because age made me less capable than in years gone by. Why? Because I believe in the mission's quality.

Thanks for your suggestion, Jean-David.

Four of my boxes are upchucking on downloads of SAM50 tasks of different flavors.

One wonders when those 'scientists' will get their act together ...

The message was passed to Staff at Oxford hours ago and documented here on these boards. Staff will communicate with the responsible folks in the Southern Hemisphere as soon as they can. ('Tis a bit of built-in time delay in that process...)

This, too, will pass. Please hang-in with us. (I also have ANZ work waiting to upload.)

Frustrating day. Ten SAM25 tasks were downloaded across four Intel boxes in Windoze 10. Tasks were approximately equal in distribution across the boxes and across SAM25 797/798/799. (One or two tasks at a time were downloaded on each box.) ALL TEN DIED AFTER ~3 SECONDS ON i5/i7 desktops. (Adding to the fun, this was M$ bug-fix day - and, as a self-defense measure, I micro-manage Windoze 'updates'.)

Perhaps that SAMxx scientist needs a bit of retraining in configuring input file structure -- and/or more attention to detail, eh?

Too common in SAMxx tasks...

Apologies for oversized font.

Configuring a new laptop today, the offered URL was selected. It was, unfortunately in small typeset and I failed to notice. Hence, CPDN was installed as ' http '. When no contact could be made, I finally noticed and the derelict was removed. (Quick and easy: highlight CPDN's project name in boinc manager's 'Projects' and click 'Remove' in the 'Commands' list in the left column.)

Then, to install CPDN from boinc's long Projects list, an 's' was edited-in before clicking 'install'.

By the way, CPDN isn't 'The Lone Ranger' with this problem. It was necessary to run through the drill for Einstein, too.

In days of yore, we ran Coupled Models of the same kind on boxes with, typically, two cores. Model types could be managed, some allowed, others not allowed. We do not have the capability to micro-manage among the several types and lengths of most work offered -- except setting 'No New Tasks' after one is caught. That is a severe limitation on machines with 4+ cores.

I'm open to correction if I've overlooked the obvious.

Joyful news! Nothing new in SAM25 land!

Had three contaminate my i7, one each from batches 763/4/5 (initial estimate in late 40s of days! [Haven't seen anything like that in a long time.]).

They died the premature death of their earlier peers: two in 3m 21s, one in 3m 20s.

{Edited for typo.)

Not me. But it might be next academic term (Quarter or Semester) before another deluge of batches is dropped into the queue -- as we experienced after Summer break. (That is conjecture, admittedly of limited value.)

This link goes to a blog operated by Cliff Mass, a Prof. of Meteorology at U.Washington/Seattle. He often addresses El Nino, La Nina, & 'La Nada' and their association with 'The Blob':

If you spend much time in his blog, be prepared for careless spelling, etc., I suspect he doesn't tolerate from his students.
