Thanks, and, Hello again Les,
Good, I am about 0.567% done on this Machine:

CPU type GenuineIntel
Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.40GHz
Number of CPUs 1
Operating System Linux
2.6.16.27.tex1.lve
Memory 749.29 MB
Cache 256 KB
Swap space 1592.34 MB
Total disk space 18.62 GB
Free Disk Space 17.35 GB
Measured floating point speed 583.38 million ops/sec
Measured integer speed 1644.14 million ops/sec

This is \"MiniMe\" from live distro.{Problem}, Just yesterday PCLINUXOS Big Daddy full versin has been released.Same Kernel as MiniMe .93A {MiniMe} came out 2 weeks ago and has wonderful bench,s , for Linux, and this system.I donnot want to lose \"your\" Model, and need to know how to save it, on a disk, and reaaplying it to my new Distro this weekend.Am still learning Linux, and donnot want to mess a Model up, I donnot care that I donnot finish this Model, just donnot want to
ruin great science.Would aborting this Model cause stress upon CPDN?If so, I should save-it
somehow?
Great to be back, Love the new graphics, and interaction, albeit used to like the \"Globe\" also.
Thank you for your time les, and \"Happy Crunching\" to all Boincateers out there.

Sincerely

Doug Worrall

I think that optimised versions of BOINC only work on the other, shorter, projects. The cpdn science app is as optimised as it can be.

I think you have a problem with your version of Linux. Measured floating point speed = 499 million ops/sec. This is very slow for a 2.40GHz computer.

Hello Les,
I was told to run this kernel linuxos 686 4Gb to speed up stuff. Its fast as it should be.With the 4Kb kernel my credits halved{ouch}.I was told this is a 686 p.c not a 586.Something must be wrong with the O.S. or,the kernel. When I have more info Les,will post again with the 3 choices of kernels.Still learning the
Linux world.Just learned how to put synergys sig in Forum,Dohh, was putting[img]
at end Dohh.
Also just beganBurp and its a pig for such little space. For the first time I saw swap actually work through KSYgaurd and Gkreml. All I do is run Boinc and Email.
All power goes to Boinc and experiments.Running 6 presently 24-7.But,will not run
pre/Beta while sleeping.

Well it much have just updated since you now have two trickles and 320 credits. The trickles are listed almost immediately as they come in, however, the credits are calculated only once a day so there is a lag (sometimes quite long) between the trickle and credit. Your PC is running at about 7.2 sec/TS which is pretty slow so the trickles won\'t be frequent. If running the model 24x7, it should trickle every 22 hours or so, if the computer isn\'t running other projects doing other CPU intensive things.

Thank you Geohi,
Just as I was writing this post,a trckle did come-in.I aplogise for Jumpimg
to conclusions,and, being a little Paranoid.Had added a 4GB kernel and have
since returned to the 1gb kernel that is all I need.

Sincerely
Doug Worrall

Hello Again,
My trickles are not good at all.Been crunching 24-7 and have had 2 trickles after
65 hours now.I would like to fix this problem. Will an Optimised client help with trickles,or just with Credits?Climate has always been Rock-Solid on this Linux O.S. if I compare dto XP{nightmare} I wish I could delete that in my Computer
in my Profile.{Scary-stuff}Could not get that Windows Validator to make the system legit. After 3 weeks of no support a Hacker found his way in and gave me the
zobutt? I forget, but,Linux I donnot personalise attacks cause there are none!

7) Questions and Answers : Unix/Linux : can\'t restart suspended wu, can\'t run boincmgr (Message 16695)
Posted 20 Oct 2005 by Profile old_user63630
Post:
It\'s a known bug of 4.43: when you suspend, you cannot resume work.
What I do is: choose \"run always\" in Boinc Manager, exit BoincManager, exit Boinc and restart Boinc, restart BoincManager and it\'s working.

Did you try to start Boinc and Boincmanager with command-line ?
First check that there is no other instance of BOINC or Boinc Manager that is already running, then
cd to ~/BOINC and type:
./boinc or
./boincmgr
HTH

Ok, I just saw your first bit about the bug in 4.43.. I have managed to restart it OK with boinc 4.19..
thanks
Rod

The problem is on the server. The link between results and workunits is broken for Sulphur_cycle and Carl is trying to fix the problem.

Thanks! For completion after 24hrs it has downloaded a Hadsm3 4.13 which is running fine.
