The day after those pictures were taken the weather service was here to inspect the damage and said that a tornado hit about a K away from where I took those pictures. They had a lot more damage where it made a direct hit but I did not go there to take pictures. It took two days to get some roads open again.

That was the 2nd one to hit the state this year. Most years we do not have any so this must be a record for us. The first one this year hit in Bridgeport, CT.

January to July was the warmest half year on record for Connecticut and we just finished the hottest July on record.

I am really getting to hate global warning. The long range forcast is for summer weather up to November this year, that is way to late into the fall for it. Is anyone ready for another ICE AGE?
12) Message boards : Number crunching : Lost BBC Credits (Message 40276)

Thanks, Thyme Lawn - I think I did in fact change my email address after the BBC project stopped, but that was quite a while ago and I'm pretty sure my BBC & CPDN credits remained integrated for some time after that. In any case, surely my BBC credits should still be showing separately on the BOINC overall list for the team. All most odd.

The credits would be linked together by your CPID, which would change when you changed your email. If you updated your email address at CPDN but not at BBC they unlink. The BBC site is down now, if they bring it back up later and you update your address there they will link together again in a day or two.

The system that was giving problems is doing good now. Another stated having problems today when it reported a complete model.

7/28/2010 9:55:21 AM climateprediction.net Message from server: (reached daily quota of 4 tasks)

As that system still has one running I will not worry about it. I have CPDN set to NNW and will try when the one running gets closer to the end.

The server did issue a Phantem unit to it this morning, but I only recieved the reached daily quota of 4 tasks message when that was sent.

Will try again when the running model completes. Will be good when Berkley finds what is causing this so all projects can benefit from the fix.

On the Famous models that keep crashing on people, is the info in the uploads that are produced along the way still of use to the project.

When you look at units you notice that a model crashes at the same point on all systems. If we know that the info sent in is still a help we will not feel as bad about so many crashing.

My garden survived.

Some of the corn may not but other things did good.

The question is - How to free such phantom tasks?
I found no solution. I tried Reset project and Detach -> Re-attach... No effect. The tasks are still shown as In progress.

You can not take them off your list of tasks, they will stay there till the unit is finished by others and it is removed from the server database. That may take a long time as they tend to leave all work there for a few years.

I completed a model today and the computer get two right after that. If you are having problems getting work and have one running it appears that the server code will reset your quota when one gets turned in. That looked good after weeks of not being able to get a 2nd model.

One model completed today, and the computer downloaded two right after that. Guess that the server just wanted to be sure mine could complete one before resetting the quota after those download errors. Hope others with this can get them after reporting.

We are a little better on the rain than you are but still short for June and July. Lawns were brown but greening up again after getting two days with some rain so far this July. I am lucky with the garden as there is an underground stream below it. The stream is far down for all the water it needs but allows it to stay damp longer after rain or watering.

You sure had a hot day when Queen Elizabeth visited your city.

Western Massachusetts and Connecticut have about the same weather. But the Berkshires have colder winters than I get. My sons are both in North Carolina and they have only been about 1 degree F. warmer than here this year. Here you have almost been able to swim every place with all the moisture in the air.

I have one model running that started in the year 599. The temperature has just been climbing from the start. The global mean is now up to 25 C. Could we have any ice caps left with this one?

LINK to hot model.

As long as it dues not melt the cpu it can run.

Maybe it is from the hotter than normal weather we are having this year. Where I live (Connecticut, USA) from Jan. to June we had the hottest half year ever recorded, and the predictions are for summer weather up to November. No the current weather will not effect how a model runs, only melt our CPU's.

When the server says that your quota is 1, what does the web site say for that computer?

The web site says:
Maximum daily WU quota per CPU 4/day

But with the new server scripts that means nothing as it has separete quota's for each type of model.

As I do have one I will just run that one and get a new one (I hope) when it is completed. In a while VIP will have work again and I will just run that on this system till they run out than be back to CPDN. The other two systems will keep running CPDN along with VIP when VIP has work. For now it is happy running one model and Prime Grid. I just hope that I can get another model when the one running now completes, will have to wait a few days to find out it I can. This started having problems when I had the two models with "Error while downloading", before that I had no problems here. It probably is something buried deep in the code and as long as others can get work I will not worry about it. I do have Result 11555621 running good now.

The system giving problems is a AMD Athlon II 235e, Computer 1053982. My Intel systems are all good here.

Lots of people are getting that quota message. Usually if you wait a while (several hours) it will give you a replacement WU.

I am glad that worked for you and some others, many of us are still getting that message. My last two request are here.

I think the word daily has to be taken out, just have quota.

I can't understand why the new Boinc version behaves correctly for certain computers but incorrectly for others.

No.v
I think that the download failures set that off, boinc seems to think that it can not send them to us after that.

When that happens, set CPDN to NNW and update it. After that the trickles will go in normally. I have had that several times when I can not get a new model.

I think that Les has it with the new version of BOINC as that will allow a different quota for each type of unit. When I try getting any other unit I get the following as they had none.

7/11/2010 1:11:27 PM climateprediction.net Requesting new tasks
7/11/2010 1:11:41 PM climateprediction.net Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks

7/11/2010 1:11:41 PM climateprediction.net Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your preferences on the web site.

When I set the preferences to FAMOUS I get:

7/11/2010 1:51:21 PM climateprediction.net Requesting new tasks
7/11/2010 1:51:22 PM climateprediction.net Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
7/11/2010 1:51:22 PM climateprediction.net Message from server: No work sent
7/11/2010 1:51:22 PM climateprediction.net Message from server: (reached daily quota of 1 tasks)

Guess I have to wait till they get time to go through all the server code to see what is causing this.

Hope that when I complete the one that is running that I can get another at that time as I do not want to stop using this system for CPDN. But other projects would like the time.

I have been running AM3P models for a couple weeks as the server would not let me get a FAMOUS model. Finally at 10 Jul 2010 3:15:40 UTC I was able to download a FAMOUS model to run with a AM3P.

This morning the last AM3P was reported in and I tried getting another FAMOUS model but only received the following message.

7/11/2010 9:25:24 AM climateprediction.net Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
7/11/2010 9:25:24 AM climateprediction.net Reporting 1 completed tasks, requesting new tasks
7/11/2010 9:25:27 AM climateprediction.net Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
7/11/2010 9:25:27 AM climateprediction.net Message from server: No work sent
7/11/2010 9:25:27 AM climateprediction.net Message from server: (reached daily quota of 1 tasks)

I am in the UTC -4 time zone so it was just over 34 hours since I recieved the FAMOUS model. To me a day has always had 24 hours. Did this change for servers running on UTC time?

I had no problem getting FAMOUS models till the day that they had many end in downloading errors like THIS ONE.

If I am not able to get another how to I move one from my laptop so I have two runnning on this system? The laptop has no problems getting additinal work. I alreay have one running on this system so I not want to move the whole BOINC folder, I want to also keep the one here running.

All I really want to do is run the FAMOUS model that I have and another on the 2nd core of this computer.

VIP has no work for a few days so this would be a good time to let two CPDN models run rether than other programs.
