That sounds like what could have happened, easily. Now if Milo could let the server know that I can get that one allowed it would be good. With not being able to get even that one I started FAMOUS on another of my slower systems.

Is it possable that on the 2nd one to get a download error on 21 June it was while the server was being working on, which caused mine to to flagged to not get and FAMOUS jobs? At least the computer is happy with running an AM3P.

I am still getting the same message when trying to get FAMOUS models. This started when Milo was moving the upload servers around.

Ingleside, this is a FAMOUS problem, it dues not effect the other models. There are a few of us with this, and we can get all the models we want of other types.

I updated BOINC from 6.10.18 to 6.10.56 with no change in being able to get FAMOUS models.

Houst having problems is 1053982

The fact that the thread title includes 'FAMOUS' doesn't matter much. The real problem for some computers is work fetch. Problems with this could probably affect any model type. Scottish webcams may have thought the problem was specific to FAMOUS, but I don't think anyone's identified it as model-specific at all.

I have no problem with receiving HADAM3P models, but can not get a FAMOUS model so at least to me it appears to be model-specific. My AMD has a daily quota of 4 and even after getting the message that I reached my quota of one for FAMOUS I can get a HADAM3P with no trouble.

Here is my last attempt to get one while reporting a completed HADAM3P

6/24/2010 4:02:29 PM climateprediction.net Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
6/24/2010 4:02:29 PM climateprediction.net Reporting 1 completed tasks, requesting new tasks
6/24/2010 4:02:34 PM climateprediction.net Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
6/24/2010 4:02:34 PM climateprediction.net Message from server: No work sent
6/24/2010 4:02:34 PM climateprediction.net Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your preferences on the web site.
6/24/2010 4:02:34 PM climateprediction.net Message from server: (reached daily quota of 1 tasks)

I do have another HADAM3P that I am running.

I can't get famous units to download. Two had download errors on 21 Jun 2010 18:50:44 UTC and 14 Jun 2010 13:56:37 UTC, now only get:

6/22/2010 9:15:10 PM climateprediction.net Requesting new tasks
6/22/2010 9:15:15 PM climateprediction.net Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
6/22/2010 9:15:15 PM climateprediction.net Message from server: No work sent
6/22/2010 9:15:15 PM climateprediction.net Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your preferences on the web site.
6/22/2010 9:15:15 PM climateprediction.net Message from server: (reached daily quota of 1 tasks).

According to the site I have a daily quota of 4 per CPU, that would be 8 total. That message also causes BOINC to defer communications for 22 hours.

Tried changing to HADAM3P but the server will not accept changes to the preferences.

Any idea when this download problem will be fixed?

EDIT
I was able to get a HADAM3P unit, will try for another famous in a few days.

Hope that the remodeling goes well, that can be a big job. I just finished a new bathroom and almost completed the kitchen. Totally new in both. We have a small two family where we are using the whole house so we have another kitchen and bath to use during the work. Some friends who are carpenters who were out of work did a lot to help so it went a lot faster than planned. Here is a LINK to how the work is progressing on the house.

When the bath was completed we let the wife know, she let us know that we forgot to get the new medican cabnet out of the basement to install. That is also in now. How could we forget to do something like that.

It is working correct now, have no idea what caused it. After 3 days it started working correct. Can\'t be the DNSSEC upgrade as that would have also affected my other systems using the same router, connection, Ect. but they were able to get them normally. Changed any setting on the perfs that would effect that and no better. Changed from using the local perfs to the ones at the web site, no change. Changed the cable to the router, no change. Today changed back to the local perfs, half hour later the speed when I chacked was at 412 kbs and finished the download in just a few minutes. And this system is back to crunching CPDN again.

I had that happen on another system 3 or 4 years ago on another system but I found what went wrong and fixed it. I can not remember what I did that time. Sure wish what I did right this time, guess I will never know.

All other projects I have running are getting work with no problem.

Most probably these other projects don\'t have files as large as the hadam3p\'s do.

True, none of them are nearly as large, it always takes a while to download any CPDN model.

As for what may be wrong: Warning: Why your Internet might fail on May 5

Don\'t think that is it, it is sometimes getting part of them. It is going better, the big data file jumped from 2% to 4% downloaded the last time that BOINC tried.

Is anyone else having problems downloading new HADAM3P Models?

I have two downloading that my system has been trying to get over a day now. Some of the files slowly arrived, most have not. BOINC tries than backs off and gives the message, \"Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site\" All other projects I have running are getting work with no problem.

In the UK they would not want to reunite with the states, learning to drive on the right would cause problems. You would have to many head on collisons in the first weeks. But that would be good for you after when going to other countries in Europe.

You have to remember that King George is a part owner of an oil company. Like most things that King George said it only amounted to ----.

I really do not know what is wrong with people here in the states letting him serve a 2nd term. I did not vote for him. Les, now to teach those Brits to drive on the right side of the road and use the Euro as you do.

Oh we miss all those jokes about Tony Blair and George Bush.

LINK to Bush and Blair

I think that they wanted to reunite the US and UK.

This happens sometimes, the trickle server gets filled.
I even completed a model yesterday, that is not showing as any activity since the 25th.
Not to worry they will be listed and you will get credit. By the amount of credits you have you must have been through this before and got the credits.

Cheers

I made the changes to delay the shutdown of Vista, think it will stop some and cause others. Seems as if it depends on whare CPDN is when the shutdown occurs. To bad that CPDN will not just shut down and later restart from the last checkpoint all the time.

Another thing that I hate is having to give Vista permission to start BOINC each time. Found a cure for that but no access to the computer for now (in use by another person), will try that later.

If there is no important personal data on a system I think that going back to XP may be easier.

Found that networking it to computers running XP can be a pain but can be done even though it dues not like it. Now to get it to use a network printer on an XP network server.

Kath
Having that in Korean would be a nightmair for most of us, at least you know some of the language.

I hope that those 80 hours were on CPDN whare you at least get credit for the trickles turned in.

mo.v

I shut it down on my systems before a system shutdown, but she is still learning the few programs that she uses. I always get asked how do I do this and that, adding another thing in will just get her lost.

Thank you Mike, I will watch.

So far I don\'t like Vista, but have not had to much time to learn the differances to tell the truth. That is only due to all of my systems haveing XP on them. I like the idea that many security problems have been fixed on it. I may put XP on her notebook as no personal data will be keep there.
